Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will perform high-quality nuclear medicine, PET, and theranostic procedures, maintain imaging equipment, ensure patient and radiation safety, and collaborate effectively with colleagues and medical staff.
Key Responsibilities Quality Assurance
Perform nuclear medicine procedures (planar, SPECT, SPECT/CT) following established protocols.
Evaluate imaging quality and maintain equipment through routine quality control (Q.C.) checks.
Work with engineers and physicists to ensure optimal operational capabilities.
Patient Care & Safety
Communicate with patients to ensure correct exams, explain procedures, and establish rapport.
Position patients correctly and use immobilization devices as needed.
Adhere to infection-control and aseptic techniques.
Radiation Safety
Safeguard patients and team members by following all radiation safety policies and protocols.
Verify the correct radiopharmaceutical and screen patients for pregnancy as appropriate.
Administer radiopharmaceuticals safely and educate patients on radiation safety.
Follow proper radiation disposal guidelines.
Collaboration & Operational Support
Assist with inventory management, ordering radiopharmaceuticals, and quality control.
Work closely with colleagues, nursing staff, and radiologists.
Ensure accurate transfer of patient images to PACS for clinical review and dictation.
Professional Responsibilities
Observe patient conditions and communicate changes to medical teams.
Provide services across all age groups, from newborn to geriatric patients.
Train and mentor new team members and students.
Maintain knowledge of current procedures, regulations, and best practices.
Use electronic systems such as PACS, EMR, modality worklists, and Microsoft Office.
Take a call if required.
Required Qualifications
ARRT-Nuclear Medicine Technologist (ARRT-N) or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT).
Strong knowledge of nuclear medicine procedures, equipment, and radiation safety.
Excellent communication, patient care, and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently and maintain professionalism under stress.
