Summary The Assembler/Wirer II plays a key role in supporting the production of high-reliability electronic assemblies through intermediate wiring, soldering, and mechanical assembly tasks. Working from detailed schematics and IPC standards under moderate supervision, this position contributes to the assembly of complex systems that meet the company’s quality and performance standards. The role reflects a level of craftsmanship, accuracy, and hands‑on experience in a team‑oriented manufacturing environment.
Requirements
Read and interpret moderately complex wiring diagrams, color codes, prints, and wire lists.
Build wire harnesses and cable assemblies of moderate complexity.
Wire and solder components within circuits and chassis using standard techniques.
Perform mechanical assembly of subassemblies and moderately complex chassis builds.
Apply RTV, conformal coating, epoxy, and potting materials as instructed.
Use voltage and ohmmeters to conduct basic testing and assist in troubleshooting.
Perform continuity checks and assist in rework under direction.
Assemble backplanes and power loads following provided procedures.
Follow documented assembly drawings and schematics.
Adhere to IPC Manufacturing Standards with support as needed.
Qualifications And Education Requirements
High School diploma or technical trade school graduate preferred; military training in electronics is a plus.
Minimum of two (2) years of recent wiring or electronic assembly experience.
IPC Certification preferred.
Must be fluent in written English.
Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with team members and support personnel.
Preferred Skills And Abilities
Familiarity with standard assembly tools such as soldering irons, pliers, cutters, and wire strippers.
Ability to follow technical instructions and detailed assembly procedures.
Demonstrated attention to detail and consistency in hands‑on tasks.
