About the Opportunity
Coalesce Management Consulting (CMC) is supporting leading renewable energy developers in the delivery of utility‑scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects throughout the New York region.
We are seeking experienced Construction Managers to represent the owner/developer on‑site and oversee construction execution from early works through commissioning. In this role, you will act as the developer’s field lead, ensuring EPC contractors deliver projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and in full compliance with technical, regulatory, and contractual requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Lead on‑site construction execution for assigned BESS projects, overseeing schedule, cost, quality, and safety performance.
Serve as the primary construction interface between the developer and EPC contractors, subcontractors, utilities, and local authorities.
Monitor EPC progress, construction sequencing, and field activities to ensure alignment with project plans and milestones.
Oversee construction documentation, reporting, and issue resolution, providing clear and timely updates to project stakeholders.
Support contract administration, change management, and risk mitigation from a construction perspective.
Coordinate inspections, testing, commissioning, and turnover to operations.
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements, including local AHJs and utility standards.
Required Experience
Demonstrated experience managing or overseeing construction of utility‑scale BESS, renewable energy, or power infrastructure projects in the U.S.
Prior experience acting as an owner’s or developer’s representative during construction and commissioning.
Strong understanding of EPC delivery models, construction sequencing, permitting, and grid interconnection.
Proven ability to manage contractors and engage effectively with utilities, inspectors, and regulatory bodies.
Strong communication, reporting, and stakeholder coordination skills.
Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline preferred.
Ability to travel to project sites within the New York region as required.
