LifeStar Response is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic, skilled Fleet Mechanic to help keep our ambulance fleet safe, reliable, and road-ready. This role focuses on preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on gas and diesel emergency vehicles and related systems.
What You’ll Do
Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on company ambulances and support vehicles.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and computer-controlled systems.
Service brakes (including air brakes), engines, transmissions, steering, suspension, and drivetrains.
Complete routine maintenance (oil changes, filters, fluids, belts, tires, hoses).
Repair or replace components in cooling, exhaust/emissions, hydraulic, air, and electrical systems.
Maintain accurate service logs and maintenance records.
Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean and organized.
Support other maintenance tasks as assigned.
What We’re Looking For
High school diploma or equivalent (trade school or technical training preferred).
Prior experience as a fleet or automotive mechanic.
Working knowledge of gas and diesel engines and vehicle systems.
Valid driver’s license.
Physical & Work Environment
Frequent standing, bending, lifting, and working in various weather conditions.
Exposure to noise, chemicals, oils, and moving vehicle parts.
Requires use of hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and safety gear.
