Position Overview The Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and production release of innovative products and custom solutions for the transportation industry, including applications supporting electric and advanced vehicle technologies. This role involves significant new platform development and end-to-end mechanical design ownership, from concept through tooling release and production.

The ideal candidate brings extensive experience leading full product lifecycle development, working with integrated electronic systems, and delivering high‑quality mechanical solutions in fast‑paced environments.

Compensation

Salary Range:

$100,000 – $130,000 annually

This salary range applies to this position and will be determined based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity

Additional Compensation

Annual discretionary bonus based on company and/or individual performance

Profit‑sharing eligibility, subject to plan terms

Relocation assistance available up to

$5,000

for eligible candidates

Key Responsibilities

Lead full product development cycles from concept through production release

Design mechanical components and assemblies, including sheet metal and injection‑molded plastic parts

Develop mechanical solutions for integrated electronic products

Work on accelerated project timelines from concept through tooling release

Take full ownership of mechanical component and assembly design

Create and modify 3D models using Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles

Generate mechanical design specifications and multiple design concepts across product lines

Own new product development as well as product maintenance activities

Create, check, release, and validate 2D drawings, samples, and production parts

Build and validate prototypes in collaboration with cross‑functional design teams

Ensure adherence to internal operating procedures, standards, and project schedules

Create and maintain mechanical validation documentation and issue Product Change Notifications

Process ECOs/ECNs within PLM or ERP systems

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure high‑quality product outcomes

Required Qualifications

Applicants must submit a portfolio showcasing relevant projects, designs, or technical work

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering

Minimum of 7 years of experience in 3D mechanical design of injection‑molded, sheet metal, and/or machined parts

Minimum of 7 years of experience using SolidWorks design software

Experience with sheet metal fabrication techniques, mold design, tooling, and production processes

Proven experience integrating electronic components into mechanical assemblies

Proficiency in designing or specifying cables and connectors

Experience processing ECOs/ECNs in a PLM or ERP system

Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced professional environment

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated ownership of full‑scope product development projects as lead engineer

Advanced or expert proficiency with SolidWorks

Hybrid role requiring a minimum of three (3) days per week onsite

Collaboration with cross‑functional engineering, manufacturing, and product teams
