Student Orientation & Onboarding Coordinator Posted: December 17, 2025 Level: Community College Professional 16, 12‑month, tenure‑track position. Hours: Full‑time, 35 hours per week. Closing Date: Applications must be submitted by 5:00pm (EST) on Wednesday, January 14, 2026.

Location This position will be located at one of our CT State CC campuses. This position is not remote.

Anticipated Start Date March 2026

Position Summary The Student Orientation & Onboarding Coordinator assists with facilitating orientation and onboarding in coordination with the Director of Orientation and Onboarding and the Assistant Director of Orientation and Onboarding across all twelve campuses. The position serves as functional support to college end users of the online orientation platform, Banner, and onboarding technologies.

Job Duties

Provide technical support for the online orientation platform and related onboarding technologies.

Coordinate college admissions and outreach events including open houses, information sessions, admitted student days and other community events in collaboration with admissions recruiters, student activities, and other CSCC student support offices.

Work collaboratively with the financial aid office to implement FAFSA workshops.

Maintain and update admissions presentations to ensure consistency across all admissions staff.

Review and maintain all admissions webpages to ensure accurate information for successful onboarding of new, transfer, readmit and dual enrollment students.

Work with the student activities office to support on‑ground new student orientation.

Analyze survey responses and review best practices to continually enhance the student experience.

Collaborate with marketing to design event program/content, schedule, and event speakers, develop communication and marketing materials, and conduct event follow‑up.

Maintain outreach via telephone, email, text, or other technology to accepted students.

Assess participants' level of preparedness for college and explain the enrollment process, providing follow‑up to applicants.

Maintain a communication plan for online orientation and onboarding events; update content, videos and materials semester by semester.

Compile statistical reports that reflect participant engagement in orientation and onboarding events or technologies.

Provide customer service training to student ambassadors in collaboration with the Office of Student Activities and facilitate on‑ground campus tours.

Review and provide recommendations on orientation and onboarding technology such as online orientation and related software packages.

Analyze orientation and onboarding platforms and events for semester‑by‑semester assessment, maintain databases of participants' progress.

Collaborate with key staff—including admissions processing staff, recruiters, international student staff, transcript credit evaluators, and other enrollment management staff—to coordinate handoff to individualized academic advising.

Adhere to FERPA and other departmental policies, procedures, and regulations pertaining to student records.

Attend convocation and commencement ceremonies; serve on assigned committees and task forces; attend committee, staff, informational and professional meetings, including evening or weekend events.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in an appropriately related field and one (1) or more years of related work experience; or a combination of education, training and experience leading to the required competencies.

Knowledge of software platforms used in orientation, admissions, and enrollment processes.

Knowledge of the transition needs of first‑generation, transfer, and readmit students.

Understanding of the structure of student orientation, advising and onboarding programs.

Experience working in a higher education environment or similar environment.

Proven ability to work effectively with culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse faculty, staff, and students.

Excellent interpersonal oral and written communication skills; strong information technology literacy skills (Microsoft Office, Teams, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications

Involvement in the implementation of an orientation or admissions‑related onboarding event.

Experience with CRM Recruit, Innovative Educators or other similar platforms to support orientation and onboarding efforts.

Demonstrated experience in a larger educational environment such as a multi‑campus institution.

Salary & Benefits

Minimum salary range: $63,858–$67,844 approximate annual, based on qualifications.
