Systems Engineer II
– Honeywell
Join the Actuation Group within Honeywell Mechanical Systems and Components to design, develop, and integrate high‑complexity actuation systems across the aerospace industry. Work from initial design concepts to product end‑of‑life, supporting primary flight control systems on aircraft, missiles, and launch vehicles.
Responsibilities
Customer technical interface and communication
Effective delegation to team members and project management performance
Cost, schedule, milestone development and risk management
Actuation system integration and component development
Mechanical systems design, component controller integration, and electro‑mechanical system modeling and analysis
Control architecture design and physics‑based model development
Root cause analysis, corrective action planning, and mechanical systems validation & verification
Technical documentation and test data analysis
Hardware supplier technical communication/interface and proposal development support
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics from an accredited institution
At least 2 years of applied engineering experience
Knowledge of systems and component development lifecycles
Experience with Agile workflow planning, systems requirement flow down, and RCCA plan development
Proficiency with Matlab/Simulink, Microsoft Excel, or other performance modeling software
Strong understanding of control theory basics, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics
Experience with motor‑driven actuation systems, electronic controller applications, and real‑time hardware‑in‑the‑loop development
Effective communication skills, self‑motivation, and ability to manage multiple complex tasks
Experience with MBSE tools and systems V&V
