Construction Inspector - Welding/Coating Join Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. as a Construction Inspector – Welding/Coating. The role requires a U.S. citizen, federal background review, and drug screen.

Responsibilities

Observe, inspect, and report on federal construction projects for compliance with plans, specifications, workmanship, materials, and construction methods.

Perform construction welding inspections related to steel fabrication and fabricate shop practices including storage, handling, cutting, bending, machining, fit‑up, surface prep, welding, bolting, erection, and coatings.

Inspect coatings, test various coating systems, and perform structural bolting inspections and testing of bolting methods and installation.

Provide recommendations to government personnel regarding contract plans and specifications for all construction phases.

Monitor contractor quality system, administer three‑phase inspection process, and assist owner in problem resolution.

Deliver change orders, modifications, RFIs, and submittals; monitor contractor schedule and review QA and safety plans.

Utilize Resident Management System (RMS).

Qualifications

High School graduate with 5 years construction welding inspection experience and 2 years coating and structural bolting inspection experience.

AWS Certified Welding Inspector, minimum 5 years related steel fabrication experience.

ASNT qualified NDT personnel.

Coating inspection with NACE Level I or SSPC Protective Coatings Inspector Level 1, minimum 2 years experience.

Structural bolting inspection certified per AASHTO G4.2 guidelines.

Experience with three‑phase QC/inspection process, EM 385‑1‑1 USACE Safety Manual, and RMS preferred.
