General Description The permanent responsibility of a faculty member is to provide the most effective instruction possible in his/her discipline. Supervision is received from the appropriate supervisor. The faculty member works to ensure that their instruction meets the educational needs of students. Classes are offered during daytime, evenings, and weekends as well as some college holidays. Classes occur at various times during the academic year and at various campuses and off‑site locations as needed.
Position is based on a 10.5‑month contract.
Salary Range: 0 to 10 years’ experience – Up to a Master’s: $57,804 to $63,637; Doctorate: $65,387 to $71,221. The maximum number of years of experience an employee may receive is ten years.
Requirements This position requires a minimum of a certificate in Plumbing, or a closely related field, with three years of full‑time related work experience, or a High School Diploma or GED with five years of full‑time related experience. Additionally, NCCER instructor certification is required, or the ability to obtain it within the first 60 days of employment. The position must meet the minimum requirements for teaching at the post‑secondary level set by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, and relevant accrediting agencies for individual programs. A criminal background check is required.
