Job Summary Provides care for patients requiring Nuclear Medicine procedures. Performs all duties directly involved with procedures utilizing radioactive isotopes for diagnostic and some therapeutic purposes in accordance with ALARA standards. Operates equipment to measure radiation, produce images, quantify physiologic responses, and relay measurements to the physician. All employees will promote a culture of safety, follow policies, and adhere to regulatory, Joint Commission, and national patient safety standards.
Responsibilities
Perform nuclear medicine procedures including imaging and therapeutic applications.
Operate equipment to measure radiation, produce images, quantify physiologic responses, and relay measurements to the physician.
Ensure safe handling of radioactive materials, especially when dosing patients with radiopharmaceuticals as prescribed.
Maintain safety culture, follow regulatory and Joint Commission requirements, and adhere to national patient safety standards.
Qualifications
Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment.
State of Florida Registered Radiologic Technologist as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
Graduate from an accredited Nuclear Medicine program.
Registered Radiographer (ARRT) (N), or Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB).
