Position Overview The Fleet Manager plays a key role in ensuring all Sage Outdoor Adventures vehicles, equipment, and facilities are safe, functional, and ready for operation. This position combines hands‑on mechanical expertise with strong administrative and organizational abilities. The Fleet Manager will oversee maintenance, repairs, scheduling, DOT compliance and inventory across both summer and winter operations while maintaining accurate records and digital systems. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle requests in a professional, timely, and organized manner.
Essential Functions Fleet Maintenance & Repairs
Diagnose and repair all fleet‑related equipment, including snowmobiles, side‑x‑sides, ATVs, vans, buses, trailers, fuel stations, heavy machinery, and snowcats.
Perform preventative maintenance according to established schedules to ensure operational safety and reliability.
Coordinate warranty or outsourced repairs with vendors and maintain service records.
Assist GM in assembling new equipment and selling used units.
Administrative & Digital Fleet Management
Maintain organized and up‑to‑date
digital maintenance logs ,
service records , and
fleet schedules
using spreadsheets and digital platforms (e.g., Google Sheets, Excel, or fleet management software).
Track and schedule
routine maintenance ,
repairs ,
registrations , and
inspections
for all vehicles and equipment.
Develop and manage systems for
work order tracking ,
budget reporting , and
parts inventory .
Communicate proactively with the GM to report status updates, upcoming needs, and completed work.
Handle internal maintenance and service requests efficiently, ensuring professional follow‑up and resolution.
Facilities & Handyman Support
Perform general repairs and maintenance for all facilities, especially at the Dotsero River Center.
Maintain a digital log of facility repair requests and completion status.
Support facility upkeep and respond promptly to repair or maintenance needs.
Operational Support
Serve as a snowmobile and side‑x‑side guide on an as‑needed basis.
Operate heavy machinery including snow cat grooming equipment, excavators and skid steers on an as‑needed basis.
Assist with guest check‑in and check‑out, vehicle shuttling, and on‑site logistics as needed.
Shop & Inventory Management
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety of mechanic shops at both the Mountain Base and Dotsero River Center.
Use spreadsheets or digital tracking systems to manage inventory of fluids, filters, tools, and parts for both summer and winter operations.
Obtain GM approval for any orders exceeding $1,000 and keep detailed purchasing records.
Team Collaboration & Reporting
Communicate regularly with the GM and COO regarding maintenance schedules, repairs, costs, and resource needs.
Support other departments with vehicles, equipment, and logistics when necessary.
Ensure all documentation, schedules, and communications are stored and accessible through organized digital systems.
Qualifications
Proven mechanical experience working with small engines, automotive, or heavy equipment.
Strong organizational and administrative skills with the ability to
create, update, and manage spreadsheets and digital tracking tools .
Excellent communication and record‑keeping abilities.
Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and prioritize multiple ongoing tasks.
Valid driver’s license with a clean record; CDL preferred but not required.
Experience operating snowmobiles, ATVs, or similar off‑road vehicles preferred.
Comfortable working in outdoor, all‑season environments.
