Role Overview
As an HVAC Service Technician at Indoor Experts, you will be a core part of our customer service team. You will diagnose, repair, maintain, and install HVAC systems, from standard air conditioners and furnaces to ductwork, zoning systems, and indoor air quality equipment. You’ll work with certified technicians who live by our values of honesty, quality, and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnostic & Repair:
Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems (AC units, furnaces, heat pumps, mini-splits, etc.)
Maintenance:
Perform preventative maintenance, including tune-ups, inspections, and system cleanings (e.g., 30-point furnace checks, 40-point AC inspections).
Installation:
Help install replacement systems, ductwork, zoning systems, and smart thermostats.
Indoor Air Quality:
Service and install IAQ equipment, such as humidifiers, dehumidifiers, UV germicidal lights, and air filtration systems.
Custom Ductwork:
Design, adjust, or repair ductwork to optimize airflow and efficiency.
Customer Interaction:
Explain findings, recommend repair or system upgrade options, and walk customers through their choices with clarity and honesty.
Documentation:
Complete service tickets, part orders, and maintenance reports accurately and promptly.
Safety & Compliance:
Follow all safety protocols, licensing standards, and best practices. Maintain certification (e.g., EPA-608).
Emergency Service:
Be available for same-day service calls, including emergency HVAC repairs.
Required Qualifications
2+ years of hands-on HVAC service experience (residential / light commercial)
Valid HVAC certification or trade school diploma
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Familiarity with HVAC control systems (e.g., zoning, smart thermostats)
Strong diagnostic skills and attention to detail
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Physical ability to work in tight spaces, lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, and crawl in attics or crawl spaces
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with Trane systems (or similar high-efficiency brands)
Experience with indoor air quality systems (humidifiers / dehumidifiers / UV lights)
Previous exposure to ductwork design or modifications
