Staff Accountant
in the Jacksonville, Florida area. This is an early‑career accounting role that offers hands‑on experience in a collaborative and supportive environment.
Position Summary The
Staff Accountant
will support the accounting and finance team with daily operations and contribute to the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. The role includes journal entries, reconciliations, month‑end close activities, and other accounting functions. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, analytical, and eager to expand professional knowledge within a supportive team.
Key Responsibilities
Review and analyze balance sheets and income statements for a select group of operations
Interface with division accountants to understand activity charged to each operation
Prepare account analyses and necessary journal entries to adjust account balances
Create and post journal entries
Review bank reconciliations
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited university (required); MBA preferred
Up to 2 years of accounting experience (internships acceptable)
Strong understanding of basic accounting principles (GAAP knowledge preferred)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
