Ability to Obtain Secret Clearance
Join a team dedicated to designing and producing armored combat and support vehicles. As a prime mover in ground force capabilities, this firm provides innovative solutions that ensure the safety and effectiveness of military personnel worldwide, focusing on durability, mobility, and performance.
Responsibilities
Design and integrate mechanical components such as shock attenuation systems, complex welded brackets, and mounting devices to meet performance, safety, human factors, ballistic, and mine blast requirements.
Conduct engineering analysis and mechanical design tasks, including tolerance stack‑ups, drawing mark‑ups, and support for engineering change documentation.
Apply mechanical engineering principles related to mechanics of materials, material selection, fabrication, and welding practices.
Generate and manage engineering data, including material requests, shop work orders, and inventory tracking for prototype or production parts.
Support integration and build activities by participating in vehicle fit checks, installation reviews, and prototype build follow‑up.
Troubleshoot mechanical issues, drive corrective action, and support redesign efforts as needed.
Present design solutions and program updates to functional leadership and program stakeholders.
Oversee CAD model and drawing development, providing direction to design teams.
Conduct failure analysis and produce technical documentation, including written reports and formal presentations.
Perform other engineering tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (required).
1–3 years of experience in a mechanical engineering or related role (preferred).
Fundamental knowledge of mechanical design principles, especially related to material behavior, welding, and mechanical mounting.
Experience with prototype and/or production build support, including issue resolution and root cause analysis.
Proficiency in 3D CAD tools, preferably Siemens NX or PTC Creo.
Experience with Teamcenter and Vis Mockup is a plus.
Eligibility for a U.S. security clearance may be required (U.S. Citizenship required).
Prior experience with military ground vehicles (desired).
Must be able to work on and around military vehicles, including climbing on/off.
Ability to travel up to 10% to other facilities and military sites.
Occasional evening, weekend, and overtime work may be required.
