Summary
The Pump Mechanic will repair/fabricate a variety of centrifugal, gear, diaphragm, and reciprocating pumps, gear reducers and related rotating equipment, troubleshoot, disassemble, inspect and repair a variety of rotating equipment including centrifugal pumps (both single and multi-stage), gear pumps, reciprocating pumps and metering pumps, gear reducers, blowers (both vacuum and pressure), mechanical seals, and many other types of equipment.
Responsibilities of the Pump Mechanic include, but are not limited to:
Read blueprints and drawings
Use micrometers and dial indicators
Use all types of mechanics’ hand tools
Utilize presses, torches and pullers
Align pumps and motors
Rebuild mechanical seals
Qualifications of the Pump Mechanic include, but are not limited to:
Have a working knowledge of fits and clearances
Be adept at reading micrometers and other measuring instruments
Have good math skills
Able to clearly and concisely perform inspection reports
Have a high school degree
Additional Information:
Physical Demand: Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.
Training/Certifications: Ability to perform laser alignments and ability to take vibration readings preferred
Shift Time/Overtime: First Shift with Overtime as required
