Mill Diagnostic Electrician

Job Summary Under general supervision, safely maintain, install, repair and troubleshoot multiple types of electrical systems and equipment in support of a Mill/Processing site.
Responsibilities
Removal, repair and installation of electrical systems and components within the following areas and systems: mill (primary/regrind), leach area, packing area, boiler room, reagent area, acid house, general mill, conveyor equipment, air, water and power line systems
Perform equipment electrical analysis and diagnosis, advanced troubleshooting and systems/process optimization
Work on switch gear and distribution including grounding, LOTOTO procedures, and use of jumper forms
Perform preventative maintenance including checking motors, checking for ground loops, metering electrical circuits, calibrating equipment and completing additional checks
Review, revise and create SOP’s
Perform GRC conduit bending and fastening: conduit, cable tray, grounds, boxes, and calculating loads and feeder sizes
Train and mentor other Electrical department employees on:
Proper testing of PPE
Proper audit of Mill site
Preventative maintenance (either electrical or instrumentation)
Product flow and priorities
New electrical installation
Print reading
Act as Fill-in Supervisor as needed
Use of mobile equipment: forklifts, light duty vehicles, bucket trucks, high-lift trucks
Perform other duties as required
Position Requirements
Completion of an approved Certified Electronics, Electrical and/or Instrumentation program, OR
Minimum of four (4) years of experience in Industrial Electrical and/or Instrumentation repair and maintenance, OR
Associate's degree or Trade School Certification in a related field and two (2) years of experience in Industrial Electrical and/or Instrumentation repair and maintenance
Knowledge of AutoCAD drawings/prints, and electronic prints
Knowledge of proper SOP's
High School diploma or GED
Experience with VFDs, PLC, HMI, and/or SCADA Control Systems
Experience working with low and medium voltages
Experience with AC and/or DC controls
Experience with instrumentation devices
Experience with diagnostic electrical test equipment
Experience with HVAC equipment
Estimated pay range: $31.00 - $42.50/hour. Employees required to work on-site are eligible for a $1,450 monthly housing allowance, provided they meet program guidelines.
