Network Construction Manager

Schedule:
Hybrid role – approximately 60% office-based and 40% field-based
Network Construction Project Manager – Small Cell / Node This role is responsible for managing the planning, coordination, and execution of small cell and node construction projects. The Network Construction Project Manager oversees multiple projects simultaneously, working closely with engineering, permitting, operations, and delivery teams to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
Manage multiple small cell and node construction projects across various stages of development
Create vendor work packages and coordinate construction schedules
Communicate project updates clearly and consistently to internal teams, vendors, inspectors, and stakeholders
Resolve construction issues in the field and proactively mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle
Collect, analyze, and report project data, metrics, and KPIs
Ensure projects meet key performance indicators such as on-time install, fiber completion, LCD installation, enterprise revenue targets, and safety standards
Maintain open communication across cross-functional teams and support a collaborative project delivery approach
Construction & Technical Responsibilities
Review and interpret fiber and small cell construction drawings and designs
Manage OSP fiber construction activities including bore, trench, aerial placement, and leased duct
Oversee node and power construction including foundations, pole installation, power installation, RF component installation, and troubleshooting
Understand and manage the process for bringing metered power to small cell sites
Ensure compliance with 811 utility locate processes and safe sub-surface construction best practices
Manage construction crews and vendor performance in the field
Prepare and submit purchase orders and process contractor invoices
Assist with project financials including forecasting, milestone tracking, and resolving past‑due invoices
Track project deliverables, deadlines, and milestones using company tools
Provide regular reporting highlighting progress, risks, and variances
Support service delivery and closeout package requirements
Perform general administrative tasks as needed
Education & Certifications
Valid driver’s license required
OSHA 10 certification preferred
Experience & Minimum Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of experience in telecommunications or wireless construction
Experience with small cell, node construction, and design
General knowledge of Outside Plant (OSP) construction techniques (aerial and underground)
Familiarity with test equipment and techniques such as OTDR, PIM, and SWEEP
General knowledge of NESC, NEC, and OSHA standards
Required Skills & Abilities
Strong project organization and multitasking skills
Ability to read and understand construction drawings
Knowledge of construction management processes and budget execution
Strong problem-solving and customer service orientation
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, and Smartsheets
Ability to diagnose workflow issues, identify critical paths, and implement timely solutions
