This role provides engineering expertise to the Technical Services department with a focus on consumer products. It requires strong technical knowledge and interpersonal skills to manage and complete assignments that enhance product performance and customer satisfaction. The position involves significant travel – approximately 50% of the time onsite with customers, typically home on weekends. Key Responsibilities
Field Investigations & Product Evaluation – conduct technically sound field investigations and communicate findings clearly. Coordinate follow‑up actions to resolve issues. Develop in‑depth knowledge of consumer tire products and related technical services. Technical Education – deliver technical training to field sales teams and customers, and assist in designing and creating training materials that strengthen brand value and improve product usage. Engineering Information Management – organize and plan training sessions, collaborate with vendors to ensure comprehensive coverage of required materials, maintain engineering databases, and manage technical documentation. Technical Analysis, Reporting & Presentation – provide technical support to internal teams and customers, apply engineering expertise to achieve project objectives and support internal initiatives, and prepare detailed reports and presentations based on technical analysis. Vendor Coordination – communicate effectively with vendors to ensure timely and successful project execution, coordinate activities to meet goals within established timelines and resource constraints. Additional Responsibilities – manage test tires and engineering equipment, acquire external engineering services and supplies as needed, prepare product samples and other tasks as assigned by Technical Services management. Contract to Hire – based out of Cornelius, NC. Pay & Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00–$40.00 per hour. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on job classification and length of employment.
