SUMMARY: We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized HR Administrator to support the daily operations of our Human Resources department. This role will focus on managing employee benefits, payroll processing, and addressing employee relations issues to ensure a smooth and efficient workplace environment. Additionally, this position will assist in interviewing and selecting hourly personnel, contributing to a positive and efficient hiring process.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & FUNCTIONS include the following, others may be assigned. Benefits Administration:

Assist with administering employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives.

Assist employees with benefit enrollment, changes, and troubleshooting any issues.

Educate employees on available benefits and provide guidance during open enrollment periods.

Payroll Administration:

Process payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Maintain payroll records and resolve discrepancies or payroll-related inquiries.

Collaborate with Finance to reconcile payroll accounts and prepare reports.

Ensure proper deductions for taxes, benefits, and other withholdings.

Employee Relations:

Act as a point of contact for employee questions, concerns, and issues.

Assist in addressing employee conflicts and escalating issues to the HR Business Partner, as necessary.

Ensure company policies are communicated effectively and consistently enforced.

Maintain confidentiality while managing sensitive employee information.

Recruitment and Interviewing:

Assist with the recruitment process by scheduling and conducting interviews for hourly personnel.

Collaborate with hiring managers to understand role requirements and identify qualified candidates.

Ensure a positive candidate experience by communicating expectations and providing timely updates.

Support onboarding efforts for newly hired hourly employees.

General HR Support:

Maintain accurate employee records in HRIS systems.

Assist in onboarding and offboarding processes, including preparing documentation and conducting exit interviews.

Support compliance with labor laws and company policies.

Participate in HR projects and initiatives to improve processes and enhance employee engagement.

FOOD SAFETY & QUALITY STANDARDS/REQUIREMENTS The employee will comply with all relevant food safety and quality standards/requirements.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES & FUNCTIONS This is a non-supervisory position.

REQUIREMENTS Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED. Experience: 1+ years of experience as an Administrative Assistant or relevant position in an HR or Accounting group. Familiarity with employment laws and regulations (e.g., FMLA, ACA, FLSA). Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal communication.

Preferred Education: Associate or bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or relevant discipline. Formal training in employee benefits, hiring and HR records administration.

LANGUAGE SKILLS Reading/comprehension, speaking and writing at required education equivalency level. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business correspondence, technical/product information, policies/procedures or government regulations. Ability to complete written forms and write routine to complex procedures, reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions in a group or individual setting.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.

COMPUTER SKILLS Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and other Office 365 applications. Proficiency in relevant HRIS preferred.

COMPLEXITY The work includes varied duties requiring many different and unrelated processes and methods be applied to a broad range of activities and/or substantial depth of analysis within a particular area. Decisions generally include areas of established approach, methodology, interpretation or evaluation, but will also involve generation of new ideas and recommendations for approval.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS The work requires both sedentary and limited physical exertion to include sitting; walking; standing; bending; traversing of stairs, carrying of light items such as papers, books or small parts; driving an automobile, forklift, etc. Work routinely requires speaking and hearing (expression or exchanging ideas by means of spoken words and perceiving sounds by ear).

WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment requires normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, personal or commercial transportation methods. Requires use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, observance of fire regulations and traffic signals, etc. Generally, the work area is well lighted, heated and ventilated. Also includes work that requires special safety precautions such as working around moving parts, carts or machines or with irritant chemicals. Employee may be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, gowns, coats, safety shoes, boots, goggles, gloves, safety glasses or shields.

Experience: 2+ years experience as an Administrative Assistant or relevant position in a manufacturing environment, supporting HR requirements. Previous work experience in Human Resources and Accounting, particularly with employee benefits administration, hiring, maintenance of personnel files and other HR records.

Located in Augusta, Georgia, the site is Prayon’s only US production location. It is primarily oriented towards the food sector, but also maintains a strong presence in the health and dental care, as well as technical markets.
