We are seeking a Survey Party Chief to join our Construction Services Surveying team, specializing in transportation-related structures, in our Phoenix Downtown office. What You’ll Do

Prepare and survey assigned locations. Direct and assist a field survey crew to locate existing survey monuments, set traverse points for control, set new survey monuments, and paint and/or set targets for aerial mapping. Lead survey crews on multiple transportation construction projects. Make minor adjustments to methods and workflow to accommodate changing conditions. Verify locations of construction project items in the field and in the plans. Clarify and interpret plans for subordinates, project field personnel, and contractor personnel. Prepare maps, diagrams, and sketches, annotate photographs, and write field survey notes. Write detailed descriptions of survey site control points and monuments for geodetic positions and later recovery. Draw maps for each project, note angles, distances, and calculate slopes. Compile a transit book to record all survey data. Set or direct others to set traffic control signals on the job site for workers’ safety. Review subordinate work in progress or upon completion to ensure accuracy and completeness of computations and measurements. Explain and demonstrate basic survey field methods to other field personnel. Perform related duties such as testing and maintaining survey equipment and operation, and maintaining assigned vehicles.
