Responsibilities

Serve as the outsourced Controller/CFO for multiple non‑profit clients.

Transform nonprofit client financial departments to help them meet their mission.

Provide financial reporting for management and board decision‑making, including presentations.

Recommend and implement improvements to accounting, operations, internal controls, and compliance policies and procedures.

Perform transactional activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable (revenue recognition and billing), payroll, general accounting, reconciliations, month‑end close, and maintain workpapers.

Conduct analysis and data visualization, budgeting, and forecasting.

Manage grant reporting, allocations, and funder reporting.

Prepare for and manage annual audits.

Provide client and staff training opportunities.

Qualifications

Passionate about working in or supporting nonprofit organizations.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (or related field).

5–7+ years of accounting experience.

Experience working remotely is preferred.

Ability to manage and lead multiple clients, work independently, and respond promptly.

Strong Microsoft Excel skills.

Experience with multiple general ledger packages, especially QuickBooks, and electronic bill pay systems.

Non‑profit accounting, public accounting, and/or consulting experience is a plus.

CPA certification is a plus.

English/Spanish bilingualism is a plus.

Standard 35‑hour full‑time work week with eligibility for paid overtime for non‑exempt employees.

For full‑time positions:

4 weeks paid time off (typically 100 hours paid vacation) with eligibility for additional vacation based on tenure and a minimum 40 hours of sick time.

9 paid holidays.

For part‑time positions:

Starting annual base salary is $90,000 to $125,000 based on a 35‑hour work week for this non‑exempt position. Total compensation may increase with overtime pay and eligibility for various bonuses. A professional development reimbursement and technology stipend are also provided annually. Base salary offers may vary based on education, experience, certifications, internal salary ranges, geographic location, and other business needs.
