Overview
Louisiana Special School District (LSSD) is an education service agency that provides services to the Louisiana Special Schools (Louisiana School for the Deaf, Louisiana School for the Visually Impaired, and Special School Programs). The schools provide educational opportunities to students with low-incidence disabilities and a variety of unique needs.
Responsibilities
Manages all components of budget execution.
Develops and implements agency-wide budget monitoring tools.
Exercises independent authority to recommend resources allocation for all departments of the agency.
Ensure fiscal integrity.
Interprets and applies state and federal fiscal regulations, policy, OPB requirements and internal controls.
Qualifications
Seven years of experience in budget development or analysis, accounting, auditing, policy planning, procurement, contracts or grants management, project management, statistical analysis, or financial services; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus four years of experience in budget development or analysis, accounting, auditing, policy planning, procurement, contracts or grants management, project management, statistical analysis, or financial services; OR
A bachelor’s degree plus four years of experience in budget development or analysis, accounting, auditing, policy planning, procurement, contracts or grants management, project management, statistical analysis, or financial services; OR
An advanced degree in business administration, accounting, finance, public administration, or statistics plus three years of experience in budget development or analysis, accounting, auditing, policy planning, procurement, contracts or grants management, project management, statistical analysis, or financial services.
Experience Substitution: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Location: The Budget Manager position is located in the Business Office at the LA Special School District in Baton Rouge, LA.
Work Schedule: Typically, work hours are 8:00 am-4:30 pm Monday - Friday.
