Summary / Job Purpose Responsible for supporting the underwriting process for property coverages. Under minimal supervision, provide technical underwriting and administrative support for assigned new and renewal accounts, including data collection, account setup, rating, quote and binder production, policy issuance, endorsements, and reinsurance tasks.
Essential Functions
Collect and reconcile submission information to prepare policy/account files for underwriter review.
Review and analyze account information for necessary underwriting data and follow up with brokers for missing information.
Accurately input financial and statistical information into systems to provide timely quotes, policies, reinsurance, and endorsements.
Maintain databases to reflect updated account information in accordance with company underwriting guidelines.
With minimal guidance, produce quotes and binders for new and renewal accounts.
Complete all reinsurance tasks per underwriting guidelines.
Ensure data accuracy and perform quality control checks to minimize discrepancies.
Proactively problem-solve to meet client and broker expectations and identify process improvements.
Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers (underwriters, operations, agents, brokers).
Respond to broker service requests for loss runs, endorsements, and other documentation.
Participate in broker/agency visits and loss inspections as recommended by the underwriter.
Order and retrieve risk engineering reports, review inspection reports, and follow up on recommendations.
Enter data into Cat Modeling Template and analyze output for catastrophe management and underwriting decisions.
Process mid-term premiums and non-premium bearing endorsements within threshold.
Document all systems/account files within established due dates and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
College degree with emphasis on insurance, business, or accounting preferred.
3+ years of insurance or reinsurance experience with emphasis on analytical functions in underwriting support, underwriting, or accounting.
Working knowledge of rating and pricing models for all lines of business.
Understanding of principles and processes for providing excellent customer service, meeting established time and quality standards.
Compensation Competitive salary commensurate with experience, with a performance-based bonus. Estimated salary range: $55,000.00–$90,000.00 per year.
