The Senior Accountant will have responsibility for supporting day-to-day financial operations, including accounting, reporting, compliance, and analysis for associates at the Twinsburg, OH location. They will collaborate with the Controller and finance team to ensure the financial infrastructure is aligned to support key deliverables and profitable growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES Strategic Leadership, Operational Excellence & Growth

Partner with the Controller to align financial operations with business objectives and support profitable growth.

Contribute to the development and execution of financial plans, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning.

Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making and operational efficiency.

Serve as a key contributor to the finance team, offering thoughtful analysis and challenging assumptions to ensure sound business decisions.

Performance Management & Development

Assist in the completion of mid-year and year-end performance assessments within the finance team.

Participate in training and development programs tailored to the needs of the finance function.

Support actions to address performance gaps and promote continuous improvement.

Engage in corporate-wide programs, such as Culture of Equality workshops, and contribute to meaningful team discussions.

Participate in quarterly IC review cadences with the finance team and contribute to the Annual IC Deep Dive with the Corporate Executive Team.

Support updates on key talent metrics, compensation and benefits, and other relevant data for business and corporate reviews.

Reinforce IC processes within the finance team through coaching, collaboration, and continuous engagement.

Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly close activities.

Ensure compliance with GAAP, SOX, and internal control standards.

Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Support internal and external audit processes with timely and accurate documentation.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis

Assist in the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.

Analyze variances and trends to provide insights to management.

Support cost center reporting and financial performance reviews.

Support standard cost development and variance analysis.

Assist with inventory valuation and reconciliation.

Partner with operations to monitor cost drivers and identify efficiencies.

Process Improvement & Systems

Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve data accuracy.

Support ERP system enhancements and financial system integrity.

Participate in CBS-driven kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives.

Serve as a mentor to accounting staff and support their development.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, supply chain, and finance leadership.

Participate in the Intellectual Capital (IC) process, including performance management and development planning.

QUALIFICATIONS

4–6 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting.

Experience with cost accounting, budgeting, and financial analysis.

Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.

Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

High integrity and alignment with Crane’s core values.

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.

CPA or CMA certification preferred or in progress.
