Financial Accountant Senior – Consolidation Accounting Charlotte, NC

Summary Records journal entries, prepares financial statements, analyzes and reconciles accounts, creates budgets and forecasts, prepares audits, and maintains internal controls and SOPs by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assists the Controller in monthly financial closing by preparing monthly journal entries, reconciling assigned accounts and bank accounts, assisting in the review of general ledger activities, analysis of variances, and production of financial statements.

Posts and reconciles Point-of-Sale transactions to the General Ledger.

Posts and reconciles E-Commerce transactions to the General Ledger.

Coordinates with Retail staff ordering of supplies from bank and resolution of deposit issues with banks.

Collaborates and consults with stakeholders throughout the organization.

Reviews cash payouts and redeems vouchers and other POS-related transactions to ensure proper recording in the general ledger.

Assists the Controller in the annual budget process including reviews of personnel count, prepares and distributes department models with current year-to-date information, and assists with providing managers budget preparation training.

Assists the Controller to install and maintains budgeting system which includes compilation of departmental budgets, edits and consolidates at required organizational levels, spreads by month, and distributes finalized copies to managers. Imports final product into the organization’s accounting system.

Performs variance analysis and evaluates contracts through comparison of actual performance with budgeted/planned objectives.

Interprets financial information for practical use by management, identifies and flag potential issues for resolution, and collaborates with appropriate management to respond to questions and resolve issues.

Generates ad hoc financial reports, and provides information/analysis reports to management throughout the organization.

Assists in creating and maintaining SOPs.

Continuously improves the automation of the accounting and reporting process.

Prepares Monthly Sales Tax return for North Carolina and all associated entries and reconciliations.

Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Additional Responsibilities Assists in the resolution of problems related to accounting software; and performs other job-related tasks as assigned by the Controller.

Requirements Education and/or Experience Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university in accounting or related field and three years of finance, budgeting, accounting or related experience; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly (more than 2/3 of the day) required to hear, sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The team member frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of the day) is required to talk or stand. The team member is occasionally (less than 1/3 of the day) required to bend, walk and reach with hands and arms.
