Job Functions Lead the CREATE Early Childhood program, overseeing daily operations, staff supervision, and coordination with Head Start. Focus on delivering training and tools to parents, teachers, and staff to support learning and development for all children.

Essential Responsibilities Administration

Program oversight: identify and implement improvements needed for the early childhood program.

Assess program quality, parent involvement, staff development, educational components, and performance guidelines.

Coordinate in‑service training, facilitate team meetings, and ensure team attendance at assigned meetings.

Conduct or delegate inspections of classrooms, work areas, grounds, playgrounds, and transportation to ensure safety, orderliness, sanitation, and cleanliness.

Maintain classroom and staff file audits.

Track and report data for grant compliance, Early Learning Coalition requirements, and parent volunteer hours.

Guide the team in training, program implementation, documentation, and outcomes reporting.

Manage the School Readiness Voucher process: enrollment, scholarship assessment, payment collection, and reminders.

Collect monthly attendance from CREATE and Head Start; submit for school readiness and monthly reports.

Quality Program

Lead quality improvement initiatives such as Quality Counts and accreditation processes.

Ensure staff complete yearly CEUs to maintain professional standing.

Keep child and staff records current, compliant with licensing and accreditation.

Provide direct supervision, coaching, and mentoring for CREATE‑ELC teachers.

Coordinate teacher training to enhance effectiveness and program quality.

Act as liaison between CREATE and Head Start for collaborative quality partnership.

Contribute to team and organizational goals as outlined in KPI and annual plan; attend required staff meetings and ongoing trainings.

Requirements Education and Experience Minimum AA degree in education, health, or social services, or 10 years’ experience in childcare. Director’s credentials required. Direct experience with children and parents is essential.

Skills Requirements Must be able to work effectively with children and parents, communicating progress to small groups and professionals within a multidisciplinary network. Strong interpersonal, supervisory, oral, and written communication skills. Dependable, mature, and sensitive to cultural and individual differences. Proficient with Microsoft Access, Word, and Excel. Demonstrated ability to handle job‑related matters professionally, diplomatically, and confidentially, with minimal supervision.

Physical Requirements Hearing and speaking ability for effective oral communication; physical and emotional stamina for job demands and stress.

Other Must pass pre‑employment screening, demonstrate legal authorization to work in the U.S., be available during normal school hours and evening meetings, pass background checks, hold a valid driver’s license, and be able to transport self and clients when necessary.
