Key Responsibilities
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow) in compliance with GAAP.
Oversee the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded and reconciled.
Manage month‑end and year‑end closing processes to meet reporting deadlines.
Analyze general ledger data to identify and resolve discrepancies.
Develop and maintain cost accounting systems; perform cost variance analysis to support budgeting and decision‑making.
Collaborate with production and operations teams to ensure accurate cost allocation.
Recommend cost‑saving initiatives based on data‑driven insights.
Maintain the fixed asset register, including acquisitions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation calculations.
Conduct periodic physical asset verifications and reconcile records.
Prepare fixed asset schedules for audits and financial reporting.
Oversee preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns; coordinate with external tax advisors.
Support tax planning initiatives to optimize liabilities.
Manage and coordinate external audits, maintaining audit‑ready records.
Address audit findings and implement process improvements.
Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure reporting integrity.
Supervise an accounting team, assigning tasks and providing guidance.
Drive process improvements and standardization across accounting functions.
Train team members on ERP system usage and accounting best practices.
Prepare internal financial reports summarizing key metrics for management.
Provide ad‑hoc financial analysis to support leadership decision‑making.
Utilize the company's ERP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle) to manage accounting processes and resolve system issues.
Maintain organized, accurate financial records and ensure proper archiving.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including manufacturing or plant‑level accounting.
At least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards.
Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills.
Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence cross‑functional teams.
Preferred Skills
Experience with ERP systems and process automation.
Familiarity with internal audit processes and compliance standards.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
