Assistant Branch Manager

Branch Hours Monday – Friday: 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Saturday: 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Sunday: Closed
Job Description Leader. Charismatic. Friendly. Problem solver. Team player. As a Retail In‑Store Assistant Branch Manager at Michigan First Credit Union you’ll deliver five‑star service, build lasting relationships with members, and drive member satisfaction.
What you’ll do:
Serve as a motivational leader and share expertise in lending, investments, and other banking products and services.
Provide stellar service to Credit Union members, using needs‑based selling.
Represent the brand with confidence, positivity, and enthusiasm.
Manage scheduling, assign duties, and prioritize tasks in line with Credit Union policies.
Teach, inspire, and set the tone for branch success.
Engage in‑store customers to assess financial needs and promote relevant products.
Recommend new or improved products based on customer feedback.
Develop plans that enhance efficiency for staff, materials, and equipment.
Assist the Branch Manager with overall branch direction, coordination, and evaluation.
Oversee transaction, goal, and activity reporting; prepare branch reports for headquarters or regulators.
Support joint promotional opportunities with the retailer.
Lead promotional activities and protect the branch image and atmosphere.
Qualifications
Associate’s degree or two years of equivalent leadership experience with a bank or credit union.
Thorough knowledge of lending processes and experience with financial institution products.
Outgoing, personable, and passionate about engaging strangers in conversation.
Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
Coaching experience with a track record of improving team performance.
Flexible schedule; able to work weekends and early evenings; two Saturdays/month on average.
Excellent communication skills in-person and via email.
Computer savvy; proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint preferred.
Calm, collected, and capable of multitasking in a dynamic setting.
Willingness to assist at any of our in‑store locations.
