Overview Headquartered in Conyers, Georgia, Batchelor & Kimball (B&K) partners with clients to deliver excellent results from engineering and construction to operations and maintenance. We offer design/build and turnkey construction services, including teaming with selected subcontractors for electrical and general construction. We are looking for a commercial estimating professional to grow your career in a team environment.

Responsibilities

Accurately identify, quantify, and record piping and equipment associated with mechanical systems.

Review all bid documents and seek clarifications during the bid process to ensure an accurate bid is assembled.

Perform budgeting, unit pricing, pipe sizing, and general code compliance for plumbing, piping, and HVAC duct systems.

Bid/manage multiple projects, creating detailed estimates with appropriate material, labor, and subcontractor selections; alternates and unit pricing when required; and corresponding proposals to define the bidder's scope.

Survey potential projects and identify best solutions for pricing.

Evaluate vendor and subcontractor proposals to ensure compliance with job requirements and specifications.

Estimate HVAC and plumbing projects and change orders to comply with corporate profit guidelines and project requirements.

Provide conceptual design and pricing to support conceptual design for both HVAC and plumbing.

Complete system take-offs in accordance with current B&K processes.

Consider and evaluate potential value engineering options and costs with the B&K team.

Develop project general conditions and other estimate scope summaries, schedules, and deliverables as necessary.

Participate in bid finalization and review when necessary.

Qualifications

Proficiency in pipe takeoff software such as Quickpen or Autobid is beneficial.

Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.

Consistent dependability and availability.

Ability to work in a fast‑paced construction office environment.

Ability to organize and curate documents related to work orders and personnel.

Aptitude to learn new systems.

Mechanical knowledge.

Project management skills.

Educational & Experience Requirements

BSME in Engineering/HVAC or Construction Business Management is preferred.

Excellent communication, relationship building, and customer service skills.

Proficiency in MS Word and Excel and ability to assemble a detailed quote.

Experienced in an open/team environment with the ability to work independently.

Strong multi‑tasking, organization, and prioritization skills.

Physical Demands The physical demands are those associated with working in a typical office environment and miscellaneous field travel.
