Overview The Recruitment Specialist is responsible for all matters pertaining to student outreach and recruitment for Oklahoma State University-Oklahoma City. The role plans, implements, and evaluates programs to recruit prospective students, supports the marketing/recruitment plan, assists students through the admission process, and represents the institution on and off campus to students, parents, counselors, and community partners.

Responsibilities

Assist prospective students in decision-making, application/admission, and enrollment processes.

Manage the prospective student communication plan, responding to inquiries via telephone, email, social media, and CRM systems.

Recruit prospective students through high‑school visits, college fairs, and community events.

Prepare and deliver specialized presentations to target audiences.

Maintain data related to prospective students in the CRM to support student relationship management and increase applicant yield.

Build and maintain relationships with high‑school personnel, community organizations, and other stakeholders.

Lead recruitment initiatives for special populations such as at‑risk students, concurrent high‑school, career‑tech, and diverse groups.

Assist with special events and activities to bring prospective students and constituent groups to campus.

Coordinate planning, scheduling, and implementation of individualized and group campus visits and tours.

Collaborate with campus units to develop, implement, and assess integrated marketing and recruitment strategies.

Assist in developing printed marketing materials and managing content on webpages and social media sites.

Represent OSU-OKC at community and professional organizations.

Support the Admissions Office by evaluating incoming documents, processing applications, and performing frontline operations as needed.

Train and supervise student employees and volunteers as necessary.

Participate in departmental documentation and process improvement efforts, including creation of process libraries and SOPs.

Complete mandatory training and attend a minimum of two professional development activities each year.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Associate’s, Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent experience (degree conferred on or before start date).

Minimum of three years of progressively responsible work experience.

Experience working in a fast‑paced, customer service‑rich environment.

Experience working both collaboratively in team environments and independently with minimal supervision.

Knowledge and experience in recruiting/sales and/or college recruitment.

Some experience with customer relationship management tools, preferably electronic communication tools.

Valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge and experience in recruiting, public speaking, event planning, marketing/public relations, or related field.

Superior written and verbal communication skills.

Experience working with college recruitment.

Extensive experience with CRM systems and electronic communication tools.

Knowledge of the college admissions process.

Working Conditions

Frequent flexible hours, including nights, early mornings, and weekends.

Office environment with significant public contact, in person, by telephone, via email, and various communication platforms.

Extensive travel within Oklahoma, primarily in the Oklahoma City area.

Physical Requirements

Extended periods of sitting, talking, and listening.

Extensive use of computers, telephone, and other office equipment.

Possible lifting of up to 25 lbs. (Two‑person lift for objects >45 lbs.).

Ability to operate a motor vehicle to attend off‑campus events.

Salary $15.52 – $16.14 Hourly
