The
Sr. Director, Assistant Controller
will play a critical leadership role within the Finance organization, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of all accounting operations. This role partners closely with the Controller and executive leadership to oversee financial reporting, strengthen internal controls, manage audits, and guide the accounting team to deliver operational excellence.

Schedule Monday – Friday
Pay $180,000 - $190,000

Key Responsibilities
Oversee preparation of accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with GAAP/IFRS.
Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and manage annual and quarterly audits with external auditors.
Monitor and implement changes in accounting standards to maintain compliance.
Ensure compliance with UK SOX (if applicable), company policies, and industry regulations.
Accounting Operations & Controls
Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with accuracy and efficiency.
Design, maintain, and monitor robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Manage cash flow forecasts, general ledger reconciliations, and expense analysis.
Identify and mitigate financial risks through strong policies and oversight.
Partner with the Controller to streamline and optimize accounting processes and systems.
Inventory & Cost Accounting
Oversee inventory valuation, costing methodologies, and reconciliation processes.
Ensure accurate recording of cost of goods sold (COGS) and inventory adjustments.
Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to maintain accurate inventory reporting.
Implement and monitor controls around inventory management and cost accounting processes.
Joint Venture Accounting
Oversee JV Accountant to ensure timely and accurate recording of JV transactions, allocations, and distributions.
Manage accounting and reporting for joint ventures, including equity method and proportionate consolidation as applicable.
Support compliance with JV agreements and related financial obligations.
Leadership & Team Development
Mentor, coach, and develop a team of accounting professionals to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
Foster a collaborative, high‑performing culture aligned with company values.
Set clear objectives, provide ongoing performance feedback, and facilitate training and career development initiatives.
Strategic Partnership
Support strategic financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities.
Collaborate with executive leadership to align financial strategies with overall company objectives.
Participate in due diligence, mergers and acquisitions, and other strategic or special projects as required.

Accuracy & Compliance: Financial statements are consistently delivered on time with zero material errors or compliance issues.
Analytical Insight: Financial results are translated into meaningful business insights and actionable recommendations that influence strategic decisions.
Operational Excellence: Close cycles are shortened, reconciliations are streamlined, and accounting processes are automated where possible, creating efficiency and accuracy.
Risk Mitigation: Robust internal controls are embedded, with proactive identification and mitigation of financial risks.
Business Partnership: Finance is seen as a trusted advisor to leadership, providing data‑driven insights that improve decision‑making and business performance.
Team Leadership: A strong, motivated team of accounting professionals consistently delivers results, demonstrates growth, and contributes innovative ideas to enhance processes.
Continuous Improvement: Evidence of measurable improvements in financial reporting, forecasting accuracy, and analytical rigor across the finance function.
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA designation strongly preferred.
8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role. Public accounting experience is a plus.
Deep knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and financial reporting principles.
Proven expertise with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced Excel/financial modeling skills.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills with a track record of driving change and process improvement.
Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, deadlines, and cross‑functional collaboration.
