Pay: $30-$32/hr
Hybrid - NYC
Must Haves:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in education and experience
Minimum of three years of related financial or research administration experience
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Preferred:
Experience with financial management in clinical research
Familiarity with industry-sponsored clinical trials
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams
Demonstrated ability to work with investigators, research teams, and administrative partners
Experience interpreting contracts and budgets
Knowledge of university or academic medical center financial systems and policies
Job Description:
The Financial Analyst supports the financial operations of industry-sponsored clinical trials. Reporting to the Associate Director of Finance, the analyst plays a key role in managing clinical trial finances on behalf of investigators and their teams. This role involves close collaboration with internal stakeholders—including contract officers, budget analysts, and other financial analysts—as well as with external sponsors and research teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Reconcile trial‑related financial transactions including accruals, invoices, and payments
Maintain ongoing communication with sponsors, research teams, and administrators regarding account status and financial concerns
Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments
Review and interpret contracts and budgets to support proper financial tracking and invoicing
Generate and distribute invoices, and follow up to ensure timely payments
Audit and analyze account activity to ensure financial accuracy
Maintain accounts within the university’s accounting system
Respond to financial inquiries with clear analysis and recommendations
Present financial activity and updates to stakeholders for assigned trials
Ensure accurate and timely closeout of trial accounts by reviewing all financial documentation
Stay current on relevant university policies related to clinical research
Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance reconciliation and reporting processes
Perform additional duties as assigned
