Citi continues to enhance its business control and governance framework by building out Institutional Credit Management (ICM). ICM’s objective is to provide integrated end‑to‑end credit underwriting, identification, measurement, management, and monitoring for wholesale credit across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

Assess the credit and financial strength of Citi’s most complex large corporate, public sector, and financial institution clients by performing fundamental credit analysis of counterparties using quantitative and qualitative factors.

Complete Credit Approval Memos (CAMs) and Final Obligor Risk Ratings (FORRs) based on independent assessment and judgment; ensure credit extensions remain within Citi’s risk appetite.

Continuously monitor the covered portfolio, follow industry trends, and escort potential credit issues to team leads, senior managers, and business partners.

Review and provide recommendations on risk ratings across sectors.

Partner with regional and industry stakeholders to implement credit assessment and monitoring standards for applicable portfolios.

Support ICM Risk Analysis Voice of the Employee (VOE) initiatives.

Travel (less than 10%).

Skills & Competencies

Risk & Credit Underwriting

Well‑developed analytical skills, with a deep understanding of key financial components.

Forms independent opinions on credit and recognizes emerging risks.

Advanced knowledge of financial statements and GAAP accounting.

Sets the standard for industry research capabilities.

Solid understanding of Credit Policy and procedures; proactively reviews Citi policies.

Identifies potential risk issues that need escalation and escalates them promptly.

Advanced experience with internal policies, standards, procedures, templates, and financial modeling.

Qualifications

BA/BSc in Finance or Accounting or a higher degree in Business (MBA), or any related subject.

Financial services experience, including 3–5 years of credit experience in banking or credit risk management.
