Our client, a highly respected organization operating within the non‑profit and healthcare sectors, is seeking a contract HR Generalist for a 2‑3 month assignment. This position can be hybrid, 2‑3 days onsite in Brick, NJ.
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of five years of experience in Human Resources; experience in the non‑profit sector is a plus.
Essential Job Functions / Responsibilities
Coordinates the New Hire Orientation Program, including notifying managers and appropriate parties of attendees, preparing packets and assisting with the orientation presentation on a bi‑weekly basis.
Manages the pre‑employment onboarding process related to medical and fingerprinting requirements to ensure that all applicants are cleared for employment (criminal background checks, drug and Mantoux screening, etc.).
Administers all employee leaves of absence, including FMLA/NJFLA, Personal and/or Worker’s Compensation leaves; maintains accurate up‑to‑date records and follows up with employees and the occupational health facility as needed, to ensure a smooth return‑to‑work process. Coordinates timecard entries for any benefit time taken during the leave with the Manager and/or Payroll Department.
Maintains the OSHA Form 300 log of workplace accidents and injuries to complete the annual BLS reporting requirements.
Reviews and processes employee status changes on a bi‑weekly basis, forwards to finance for approval as applicable and enters the changes into ADP; notifies the appropriate parties via email. Generates separation letters for terminated employees, attaching the required notice for claiming unemployment benefits.
Coordinates the exit interview process by corresponding with employees during their notice period and obtaining exit interview questionnaires prior to termination; provides a summary of findings to the HR Director on a quarterly basis.
Ensures that employees who are transferred and/or promoted meet all mandatory regulatory requirements, i.e. fingerprinting, medical, CARI, etc. needed in their new positions.
Oversees the PBHG Internship Program, referring applicants to supervisory personnel and coordinating intern paperwork and orientation start dates.
Assists with financial, regulatory and other HR audits by reviewing personnel files for completeness, providing documentation as requested by the auditors, and running reports in ADP Workforce Now as needed.
Ensures compliance with state and federal employment laws and regulations, employee records management and retention requirements as well as the security of all employee documents.
