Position Summary:
The Senior Finance Associate at KCG Management Company, Inc. will support the Finance team by evaluating and underwriting affordable housing projects, managing loan documents, and overseeing construction period financing. This role demands independent judgment, problem-solving skills, and a strong understanding of affordable housing financing and relevant regulations. The Finance Associate will assist in managing equity and debt relationships and support the financial structuring of deals, ensuring successful closures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Evaluation and Underwriting
Assess and underwrite affordable housing projects.
Participate in comprehensive underwriting and financial modeling for new and existing deals.
Review and analyze affordable housing loan applications.
Loan Documentation and Administration
Prepare development and loan agreements, ancillary, and collateral documents.
Negotiate terms with developers and other stakeholders.
Construction Period Financing
Monitor construction period financing and ensure smooth transitions to permanent financing.
Facilitate and support the conversion and stabilization process with lenders and syndicators.
Capital Markets Management
Lead the capital markets activities, including adjustments to project and construction budgets and participation in capital calls.
Source debt and equity, manage relationships with financial partners and contacts.
Support the structuring of deals and provide recommendations to optimize the capital stack.
Deal Closure and Relationship Management
Assist in leading closing calls, meeting deadlines, and ensuring deals progress toward successful closures.
Collaborate with internal and external partners, including the Development team.
Program Management
May have program management responsibilities over specific program/project areas.
Industry Engagement
Attend occasional industry conferences annually and coordinate meetings with various financing partners.
Occasionally travel for on‑site property visits.
Knowledge and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field.
Extensive experience in affordable housing financing and familiarity with relevant housing program regulations.
Proven track record of successfully closing transactions and creative problem‑solving.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders.
Highly organized self‑starter with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
