Overview
Under the direct supervision of the Food & Beverage Manager, the Concession Supervisor is responsible for the day‑to‑day management and operation of the food and beverage services at the Paddleboat Quarry Rental and the Centennial Grill.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and supervise all daily operations of the facilities.
Evaluate facility conditions and assist in the development, implementation, and review of facility operations.
Manage the work of others, including planning, assigning, scheduling, and reviewing work to ensure quality standards. Is responsible for hiring, training, and development of staff. Collaborates with the Food & Beverage Manager on discipline and performance reviews for staff.
Coordinate facility schedules to ensure appropriate staffing and setup for all at the Paddleboat Quarry Rental and the Centennial Grill.
Purchase products and supplies based on proper forecasting and food operation needs.
Manage property and equipment, including initiating work order requests and repairs.
Maintain inventory of food and beverage supplies. Communicate and enforce inventory controls including spot checks on product counts.
Enforce sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen and dining areas.
Ensure staff are properly preparing food and dispensing proper portion sizes.
Maintain records and prepare reports.
Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with residents, customers, vendors, and community partners.
Address customer inquiries promptly and in a professional manner.
Adhere to City of Naperville, State of Illinois, Illinois Department of Public Health, and DuPage Health department requirements.
Demonstrate and support District customer service standards.
Communicate budgetary requests, as needed.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
Cover Concession Shift Lead and Paddleboat Shift Lead shifts when needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Skill in the operation of food preparation and management.
Capacity to make decisions objectively based on customer service and fiscal constraint.
Ability to multitask, organize, and maintain attention to detail. Ability to prioritize and handle a variety of different tasks at the same time.
Knowledge and skill in budget preparation, financial management, and fiscal control.
Working knowledge of basic computer software including point‑of‑sale systems.
Education and Experience
Minimum two (2) years of experience in food operations or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Valid driver’s license.
Possession of, or the ability to obtain, Illinois Food Protection Manager Certification within one (1) month of hire.
Possession of, or the ability to obtain, Allergen Training Program Certification within one (1) month of hire.
Possession of, or ability to obtain, First Aid, CPR, and AED certification within two (2) months of hire.
Special Considerations
Must be at least 18 years old.
Subject to both office and outside environmental conditions.
Subject to modified/flexible work schedules.
Exposure to heat from appliances, smoke, steam, cleaning chemicals, food, and odors.
Subject to modified/flexible work schedule including evenings, holidays, and weekends, as well as during the beginning of the school year.
Ability to lift, carry, and/or move objects weighing ≤ 30 lbs on a daily basis. Lifting assistance is required when lifting > 30 lbs.
Regular onsite attendance is an essential function of this position.
Benefits Full Salary Range: $23.00/hr - $33.00/hr
