Overview
The Spray Supervisor oversees and coordinates daily pesticide application operations, ensuring full compliance with safety, environmental and regulatory requirements. The role provides direct supervision to spray rig operators and field personnel and is responsible for planning, scheduling, training, equipment oversight, and accurate record‑keeping related to pesticide applications. Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily operations and scheduling. Compliance and Safety:
Ensure all safety protocols, PPE and environmental protections are in place and followed. Keep up‑to‑date with changing pesticide regulations. Conduct safety briefings and risk assessments.
Team Supervision:
Supervise and mentor field staff, offering training and guidance. Address performance or safety issues. Ensure team members are well‑informed about safety procedures and operational standards.
Equipment Management:
Oversee maintenance and calibration of spray rigs and equipment. Ensure equipment is in proper working order and ready for daily use. Maintain an inventory of pesticides, chemicals and safety equipment.
Recordkeeping and Reporting:
Maintain detailed records of pesticide applications, including product usage, application rates and environmental conditions. Ensure all documentation complies with regulatory requirements. Prepare and submit reports related to pesticide applications, safety audits, and equipment inspections.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Qualifications Knowledge of pesticide regulations (local, state, federal) Leadership skills – ability to lead and manage a team, resolve conflicts and ensure a safe working environment Technical knowledge of spray rig operations, equipment maintenance and calibration Attention to detail – track schedules, recordkeeping and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards Communication skills – strong verbal and written communication to interact with staff, management and regulatory bodies Safety focus – commitment to ensuring the safety of personnel and the environment Desired Certifications Qualified Applicator’s License (QAL) – optional but beneficial First Aid & CPR Certification – optional but beneficial Possession of a CDL and an acceptable driving record 3+ years supervisory experience in agricultural pesticide application or a related field Pay Range
Pay Range:
$75,000 – $85,000 and may include a discretionary bonus. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience. Additional Information
