About the Job As Insurance Verification Specialist reporting to the Patient Services Manager, you will take inbound calls to answer patients’ questions about their medical bills. This role is a key part of our team, combining strong customer service focus with knowledge of medical billing to interact effectively with patients, doctors, staff, and management.
Responsibilities
Maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward patients at all times.
Strong communication and customer support skills.
Work with patients to answer questions and resolve any potential billing issues.
Apply knowledge of medical terminology and billing.
Utilize knowledge of medical insurance, deductibles, copay, and coinsurance.
Use strong computer skills to manage records.
Qualifications
Customer service or insurance verification experience required.
Knowledge of medical terminology and billing is a plus.
Knowledge in Oculoplastic preferred but not required.
