Position: Program Manager 1 Program: Cochegan House Location: Uncasville, CT Salary: $60,000/year Schedule: Full time; 40 hours; Monday-Friday; 1st shift (8:30‑4:30 p.m.) with on‑call requirements and flexibility to meet program needs.
The Connection’s Community Justice Services are grounded in the belief that every individual has the potential to change and lead a healthy, productive life. Our programs promote public safety while reducing barriers for individuals reentering and living in the community, using a trauma‑informed, person‑centered approach.
Position Summary We are seeking an experienced leader to oversee our Cochegan House Program. Cochegan is a 24‑hour residential work release program that supports adult men who are currently under the supervision of Parole. This position provides supervision to program staff, ensures adherence to contractual expectations and internal policies and procedures, and promotes a structured trauma‑informed environment that supports successful community re‑entry through the delivery of case management services, job development, and linkage to community‑based treatment. This role also provides on‑call support to program staff and participates in an on‑call rotation as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, support, and supervise the operations of the Cochegan House Program
Implement and oversee systems and processes to enhance service effectiveness and contract compliance
Build and maintain productive relationships with state agencies and community partners
Oversee staff performance, training, and professional development
Provide on‑call support and leadership coverage as needed
Ensure program aligns with Department of Correction (DOC) regulations
Qualifications
Strong organizational and leadership skills
Proven experience in program operations and staff supervision
Knowledge of Connecticut’s DOC service system
Experience working with individuals impacted by the criminal justice system
Requirements
Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years related experience or 3 years supervisory experience
Associate's Degree and 8 years of related experience or 3 years supervisory experience
Valid Driver’s License
Orientation If selected for employment with The Connection, newly hired employees will be required to attend a two‑day mandatory New Hire Orientation at our Roscommon office located in Middletown.
