Job Overview
The Recycle Technician will be responsible for the recycle, reuse, and reclamation program.
Roles & Responsibilities
Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures.
Stop risky behavior of others and self.
Perform work assignments in a team with other employees.
Maintain clean work area and dock/collection areas.
Follow all company procedures, policies, and rules.
Take direction and respond to supervision.
Communicate professionally with leads, supervisors, co‑workers, managers, and customers.
Maintain logs and schedules.
Support shift lead in completing punch‑list items.
Use proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
Present a professional appearance and conduct.
Understand customer service and satisfaction.
Understand reporting systems and the importance of the environment.
Collect, salvage, and sort reusable or recyclable materials or waste materials.
Inspect and sort materials.
Work with multiple collection containers.
Qualifications Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or GED with 1–2 years of recycling experience in a company environment or equivalent combination of training and experience – preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, and Certifications:
CPR/AED/First Aid certification a plus; valid driver’s license; forklift certification may be required; hazardous waste handling training (RCRA) may be required; completion of all safety and task training certifications.
Knowledge, Ability, Skills:
Bilingual a plus; ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents; strong verbal and written communication skills; knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, and willingness to share with team; knowledge of upkeep and care of cleaning equipment; knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals and their safe, efficient use.
There are no supervisory responsibilities.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
Must be able to sit and talk or listen frequently; occasionally lift or move up to 35 pounds.
Allow reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities.
Shift Monday – Friday, 6:00 pm – 2:30 am.
Compensation $22.00–$23.00 per hour.
