Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Director of Family Services, the Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the overall operation of three centers during their shift. This person will ensure that program policies and procedures are adhered to by the Family Advocate staff and is responsible for supervision and development of direct care staff, who will provide a healthy, safe, secure and clean environment for every family residing in our three centers. The Shift Supervisor will reflect and display the values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. The Shift Supervisor is responsible for the operation of the Family Life Center, David Jon Louison Center and Bolton Place Family Center. This position is responsible for ensuring that a high level of service is provided to all children and families in our centers. The Shift Supervisor will represent the Old Colony Y in a positive, professional manner, resulting in friendly, convenient, and courteous service. The Shift Supervisor will uphold the employee code of conduct and will ensure that all areas of the job responsibilities reflect the mission of the Old Colony Y, and all regulating agencies. The Shift Supervisor will display and encourage the character traits of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility, as well as the values of the Developmental Assets, Family Strengthening and Trauma Informed Care consistent with the Old Colony Y.
Responsibilities
Ensure that Family Advocates maintain a clean and safe program and carry out DHCD and OCY policies while servicing the families of this program.
Ensure Family Advocates are warmly greeting all families arriving at our program and providing a clean room with basic necessities.
Attend all scheduled program and staff meetings.
Provide support to any Family Advocate as needed.
Ensure that the dress code policy is followed by all staff.
Review all records and reports generated on the shift for accuracy and clarity.
Plan, coordinate and direct the ordering and dispersing of supplies.
Ensure proper staff coverage, and not leave until coverage has arrived.
Act as part of management team to deliver quality services to children and families within Branch.
Respond to emergencies as needed.
Participate in staff meetings and trainings as requested.
Ensure all program standards are met in accordance with YMCA procedures/protocols and other funding sources.
Support the daily programming of all Family Services sites (David Jon Louison, Family Life Center and Bolton Place).
Provide and maintain all required documentation and certification.
Participate in on-call coverage.
Clean and setup rooms for new residents.
Lead the room inspection process.
Travel to all program sites as needed throughout the shift.
Follow up on maintenance and supply needs at all sites.
Offer flexibility to cover shift needs as they arise.
Accept donations and track where appropriate.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Education & Physical Requirements
Bachelors Degree in Social Services, Human Services, or Related Field preferred or equivalent knowledge.
A minimum of one year of direct experience.
Ability to lift, push and pull up to 30 lbs. as needed.
Ability to communicate with clients, families, and collaterals in person and by phone.
Daily attendance and scheduling flexibility.
Must be able to sit down, stand up, walk up and down stairs and bend over multiple times during the course of the day.
Visual and auditory acuity to maintain program security required.
Must be an insured and licensed driver able to travel for occasional home visits, transportation of clients, and provider meetings, as well as able to pass pre-placement drug screen.
Schedule Requirement
Tuesday through Saturday 12pm to 8pm
