Responsibilities SUMMARY:
Distribution Center Team Leads assigned to Receiving, Shipping, Cable Cutting and Inventory Control. The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are listed for each department. Overtime and Saturday may be required based on business needs. Other duties may be assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
RECEIVING
Lead department personnel in the receipt and put away all product per documented procedures
Promote quality receipt and put away transactions
Perform and assist floor employees in performing inbound receipts per documented processes as well as dispositioning non-conforming product, purchase order, or damaged shipments.
Assist in the maintenance of acceptable productivity and quality levels for floor associates to ensure the performance metrics of the business are met
Assist in maintaining accurate inventory utilizing a Warehouse Management and Reporting System
Communicate any performance issues and observations to department supervisor
Conduct periodic department meetings with supervisor's approval to communicate company policy, process changes, workloads, safety topics
SHIPPING
Lead personnel to achieve corporate objectives in quality and productivity
Lead the department in shipping orders and as required to meet customer delivery and quality level commitments
Insure outbound shipments are worked in line with our documented procedures and processes.
Promote established safety and quality standards
Assist in maintaining an accurate inventory utilizing a Warehouse Management and Reporting System
Lead efforts to improve quality
Communicate any performance issues and observations to department supervisor
Conduct periodic department meetings with supervisor's approval to communicate company policy, process changes, workloads, safety topics
CABLE CUTTING
Lead department personnel in the receipt, cut, put away, and ship of cable reels following documented processes.
Lead the floor associates in processing Cable shipping orders and their shipping duties as required to meet customer commitments
Insure ancillary supplies involved in the cable cutting process are stocked.
Lead safety efforts involving cable machinery and forklift operation
Assist in the maintenance of acceptable productivity and quality levels for floor associates to ensure the performance metrics of the business are met
Insures cable is prepared for shipment to prevent damage by carriers
Manages Steel Reel returns for credit and cable junk recycling
Assist in maintaining accurate inventory utilizing a Warehouse Management and Reporting System
Communicate any performance issues and observations to department supervisor.
Conduct periodic department meetings with supervisor's approval to communicate company policy, process changes, workloads, safety topics
INVENTORY CONTROL
Lead and monitor personnel in the performance of item setup in the Warehouse Management System
Lead floor personnel in the inventory reporting, cycle counting, and reconciliation process.
Investigate zero shipments, receiving errors, and adjustments to inventory to determine root cause, and provide recommendations to DC Manager to improve quality
Assist in the maintenance of accurate inventory utilizing a Warehouse Management System
Conduct periodic meetings with assigned staff to communicate company policy, process changes, workloads, safety topics
Communicate any performance issues and observations to department supervisor.
Conduct periodic department meetings with supervisor's approval to communicate company policy, process changes, workloads, safety topics
Safety Duties & Responsibilities
Adhere to, promote, and accept responsibility for compliance to Federal and Local Occupational Safety and Health Regulations, Industry Consensus Standards, and KGP Injury and Illness Prevention Program Manual. Participate in job site safety/hazard analysis.
Qualifications QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
Prior warehouse experience required
Prior supervisory experience preferred
Working knowledge of Warehouse Management System required
Knowledge of RF processes using Intermec RF scanning equipment and other warehouse equipment required
On Call required. Willingness to travel
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence; ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the Company.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add and subtract 10-digit numbers, to multiply and divide with tens and hundreds; ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.
REASONING ABILITY:
No major critical thinking required. Work follows established job aids and business rules. Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form; ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
