Workforce Advisor - PROMISE JOBS
Office based in Cedar Rapids Iowa WORKS American Job Center.
Position Description
Build supportive and trusting relationships with customers.
Coaching and modeling with customers.
Motivational interviewing.
Connections to Iowa WORKS partners and community resources.
Accountability toward goal attainment.

Family Development and Self-Sufficiency programs.
Monitored employment.
Case Management Maintain and manage PROMISE JOBS case records by documenting case actions, referrals, services and participation hours. Remain in regular contact with customers to support goal attainment. Ensure FIA activities are scheduled and attendance monitored. Coordinate with the Department of Health and Human Services and other partners. Authorize transportation and childcare allowances and recover overpayments when appropriate. Assist customers in completing Family Self-Sufficiency Grant applications. Review cases for sanction when customers do not follow through. Represent the department in all appeals related to caseloads.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience substituting one year of full-time public contact work; OR employees with current continuous experience in the state executive branch equal to twelve months of full-time work as a Workforce Associate.
Additional Qualification Requirements
Travel may be required for positions in this class. Employees must arrange transportation to and from assigned work areas.
