The Role The Field Service Technician Level 1 will be responsible for start‑up and commissioning of projects, preventative maintenance, and basic submersible wastewater pump (Flygt) and control panel troubleshooting at customer sites. Product specific training will be provided. Will interact with customers.

Core Responsibilities

Evaluate, repair, and conduct hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical testing of submersible wastewater pumps

Basic troubleshooting of electrical control panels

Basic understanding of schematics and wiring diagrams

Assist with start‑ups and emergency callouts

Operating and maintaining a service truck with crane and out‑riggers

Operating industrial equipment in a shop environment such as forklift, overhead cranes, etc.

Working with various company provided hand and power tools

Accurate record keeping inside Xylem’s work order management system

Create and maintain a safe and organized working environment and culture within the organization and following protocols at customer locations

Take care of company property

Must be able to function in a team environment

Usually works with direct supervision but can work independently if needed

Travel Requirements

Some travel required (overnight stays, away from home)

Pre‑hire requirements to operate company vehicle (provided by Xylem or candidate)

Qualifications Education Requirements

HS diploma or equivalent

Experience Requirements

0 to 2 years of technical work experience, 1 year preferred

Electrically and mechanically inclined

Day In The Life In this role, the working environment is an industrial shop setting where use of PPE is required. May also include exposure to hazardous material and loud noises. The physical demands may include but are not limited to, standing and lifting to 50 lb. In addition, this role may require overtime, and travel may be needed for training sessions.
