Position Summary The Project Manager is responsible for being an organized, service‑orientated individual to manage projects for a variety of customers. They communicate with departments, vendors, employees, and customers to ensure projects are completed on time and to budget, and propose additional services that enhance safety and efficiency of the customer’s operation.
Responsibilities
Complete Power Systems Tech duties including inspection, testing, troubleshooting, start‑up and data collection of low, medium and high voltage (to 500 kV) electrical systems.
Calibrate MCC’s, breakers, electro‑mechanical and solid‑state relays, perform moderate relay calibration and power metering.
Test low, medium and high voltage switchgear and circuit breakers; respond to customer emergencies during on‑call duty.
Order materials and subcontract services; use purchase order and subcontract agreement.
Track deliveries to keep jobs on schedule.
Meet customers on‑site, review and identify their needs; schedule jobs accordingly.
Generate work orders for technicians and prioritize scheduling to execute client work.
Produce accurate, detailed reports on a timely basis.
Provide technical support for field service personnel regarding testing and troubleshooting of electrical power distribution systems.
Supervise or assist on projects as needed.
Communicate with clients, management and teams for problem resolution and information transfer.
Maintain project status and provide updates to clients.
Conduct client communication in a highly customer‑service‑oriented manner, potentially expanding scope and negotiating extra charges.
Manage ongoing schedule and travel planning for timely customer response.
Work may require flexible hours, weekends, holidays, night work, and out‑of‑town travel.
All decisions comply with regulatory law; observe safety rules, best practices, company policies and procedures.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Experience and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience; minimum 5 years of NETA testing–related experience.
Active NETA III or IV certification preferred.
Ability to read and understand complex blueprints, schematics, parts lists and other technical materials for troubleshooting.
Experience working in a testing environment.
Effective verbal and written communication skills with customers and peers.
Dependable with good judgment and organizational skills.
Strong customer service, time management and follow‑up skills.
Self‑management of assigned projects; job‑cost accountability to stay within budget estimates.
Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks.
Collaborative, customer‑focused across the organization.
Focus on accuracy and efficiencies.
Valid driver’s license required for positions utilizing a company vehicle.
