We are seeking a Lift Manager responsible for Lift Maintenance and Lift Operations. The position requires open availability for weekdays, weeknights, and weekends.
Job Purpose The Lift Manager supervises lift maintenance and lift operations, ensuring safe uphill transportation for guests and staff. You will lead lift operators and mechanics, maintain equipment, meet or exceed all applicable codes, and work closely with other departments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Schedule lift operators and mechanics during high‑volume times and special events.
Ensure the lift maintenance department and operators comply with all laws, codes, and regulations.
Guide maintenance mechanics and assist with troubleshooting, repairs, and adjustments.
Maintain and store operational and maintenance documentation, including daily, weekly, monthly, mid‑season, and annual inspections.
Complete work orders, daily operation logs, and other maintenance documentation.
Create and maintain a safe and fun environment for staff and guests.
Maintain a positive professional approach with coworkers, vendors, and guests.
Guide and direct the preparation of lifts for operational use.
Provide training, mentoring, and performance reviews for staff.
Support the integration of lift maintenance and operations with other departments.
Identify new efficiencies and create business and operational systems when needed.
Collaborate with mountain operations, snowmaking, grooming, terrain park, and ski patrol to align operational goals.
Troubleshoot basic mechanical component discrepancies or failures.
Uphold and promote all company policies and procedures and adhere to codes and laws of oversight agencies.
Manage budget according to policy and oversee hiring, staffing, procurement, budgets, inventory, training, and safety.
Plan and schedule work and staffing for maintenance activities, special projects, events, and daily operations.
Report all hazards, injuries, or other concerns immediately.
Other Duties As Assigned Adapt to evolving needs of the organization and undertake additional responsibilities as required, reflecting flexibility and responsiveness.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma and minimum 18 years of age.
At least 2 years verifiable experience as an aerial lift mechanic.
At least 2 years in a leadership position managing staff.
Basic mechanical theory, industrial safety, troubleshooting, and basic electrical knowledge.
Familiarity with lift service, maintenance documentation, safety bulletins, drawings, parts catalogs, and industry codes.
Working knowledge of hydraulics, lubrications, power transmission, rotating machinery, and basic electricity.
Experience with rigging, lifting, general ropeway maintenance principles, and industrial safety.
Physical capability to climb ladders, towers, and work in uneven, cold or hot conditions.
Ability to operate over‑the‑snow and wheeled vehicles safely.
Knowledge of OSHA/MIOSHA safety standards and basic labor practices.
Proficiency with Google Sheets, Docs, Drive & Gmail.
Clear, effective communication via radio and in writing.
Valid driver’s license.
Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
