The MuleSoft Lead is a hands-on technical leader responsible for driving the design, development, and governance of enterprise-wide integration solutions using the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform. This role bridges the gap between business needs and technical execution, ensuring the successful implementation of the API-led connectivity approach to create secure, scalable, and reusable services. The Lead acts as the senior subject matter expert and mentor for the MuleSoft development team.
To adhere to our corporate location policies, this resource will be required to be local to the surrounding Atlanta, GA or St.Louis, MO. You are required to adhere to our Return To Office (RTO) / weekly onsite requirements (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday).
This position does not offer immigration sponsorship (current or future) including F-1 STEM OPT extension support.
What you will do
Architectural Strategy: Lead the end-to-end design and execution of MuleSoft integration patterns, championing the API-led Connectivity methodology across Experience, Process, and System layers.
Platform Orchestration: Provide expert-level administration for CloudHub 2.0 and Runtime Fabric (RTF), overseeing VPC configurations, Dedicated Load Balancers, and shared resources.
Hands-on Engineering: Act as the primary technical authority, building high-complexity Mule 4 applications and custom connectors in Anypoint Studio while solving the most difficult technical bottlenecks.
Governance & Standards: Establish and enforce "Definition of Done" criteria, including code quality, MUnit coverage, security protocols, and performance benchmarks across all delivery teams.
Enterprise Observability: Design holistic monitoring frameworks using Anypoint Monitoring, Splunk, or ELK to ensure proactive alerting and operational resilience.
DevOps & Automation: Architect robust CI/CD pipelines using Maven and Jenkins/GitHub Actions to automate the promotion of Mule artifacts from development to production.
Security & Identity: Implement sophisticated security frameworks (OAuth 2.0, OIDC, JWT) and threat protection policies via Anypoint API Manager.
What experience you need
Proven Leadership: 7+ years in Enterprise Integration, with at least 5 years of hands-on MuleSoft leadership (deep expertise in Mule 4 is mandatory).
Architectural Depth: Mastery of Microservices, SOA, and Event-Driven Architecture (EDA) utilizing Anypoint MQ, Kafka, or RabbitMQ.
C4E Advocacy: Demonstrated experience leading a Center for Enablement (C4E) to promote asset reuse, self-service, and platform scalability.
Technical Design: Expertise in API-First Design (RAML/OAS) and complex DataWeave 2.0 transformations.
Education & Certification: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field. MCD – Level 2 (Developer) is required; MCPA (Platform Architect) is a significant advantage.
What could set you apart

Advanced Governance: Expert in designing High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), and enterprise monitoring for mission-critical environments.
Security & Compliance: Deep experience implementing advanced security (OAuth/JWT, tokenization) within highly regulated industries.
Infrastructure Specialist: Hands-on expertise in Runtime Fabric (RTF), including container management, scaling, and operational excellence.
Performance Optimization: Specialized in JVM tuning and high-performance DataWeave transformation for low-latency, high-volume traffic.
Executive Influence: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to articulate technical integration strategies to C-level stakeholders.
Full-Stack & Automation: Proficient in Java (JDK 1.7+), automated testing (JUnit, Selenium, SoapUI), and Agile leadership using the Atlassian suite.
