Job Summary Part of a larger team delivering high quality Computer, Network, Storage and End‑User Infrastructure technology solutions, ongoing support to the business. Independently completes infrastructure project assignments. Plan, research, evaluate, design, and engineer the enterprise’s technology infrastructure. Provide technical support and troubleshooting, cost estimates, justifications, and recommendations. Produces technical documentation, support and configuration. Manage, plan, and maintain technical platforms including upgrading systems. Monitor system performance and installs and configures hardware. Responsible for collaborating with other Job Families such as Project Managers, Architects, Solution Engineers, Technicians, Business Analysts to deliver consistent, reliable technology solutions that leverage AEP’s technology standards, architectures and best practices.
Responsibilities
Perform infrastructure project assignments.
Plan, research, evaluate, and design infrastructure solutions.
Provide a high level of technical support and analysis, operation, administration, and troubleshooting activities.
Adhere to AEP’s approval processes as part of change management, incident management and trouble response scenarios.
Prepare cost estimates, justifications, application requirements, alternative solutions, and technical recommendations.
Prepare technical documentation including procedures, manuals, and reports.
Review and adhere to budgeting and approval processes while assisting with annual and project planning.
May provide training and mentoring, as well as work direction, to others on the team.
Qualifications Senior Level
– Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field is required. Experience: 5 Years Of Relevant Work Experience Is Required. An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.
Principal Level
– Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field is required. Experience: 7 Years Of Relevant Work Experience Is Required. An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.
Other Requirements
Adhere to policies, procedures, standards, codes and regulations relevant to assignments.
Demonstrate thorough knowledge of AEP infrastructure, environment, components, and facilities to enable more efficient and comprehensive responses to projects and problems.
Exhibit and apply proficiency in analysis, design, problem solving, troubleshooting, resolution, communication, and customer service skills.
Location Gahanna, OH
Compensation Salary range: $87,000–$125,000 per year.
Physical Demand Level S – Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (Occasionally: activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently. (Frequently: activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
