Senior System Administrator (Onsite) Motus Recruiting and Staffing, Inc. invites applications for the Senior System Administrator (Onsite) position. This onsite role is a one‑year renewable contract that includes employee benefits.

Our client is a leading Pacific Northwest utility provider committed to public service and environmental preservation. The position provides hardware maintenance lifecycle support for Control Center systems and additional responsibilities for General Support System (GSS) infrastructure maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, emergency response, client support, system energization/acceptance testing, and performance analysis and trending.

Key Responsibilities

Configuring applicable software and systems, maintaining local documentation, installing/updating/removing software, applying change control processes and procedures, planning and preparing for future growth, troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, and performing system‑related training for the following systems: VMware Virtual Machine, Hypervisor Management and Infrastructure deployment, Software‑Defined Networking (e.g., VMware NSX, Cisco ACI), antivirus, antimalware, and malicious code prevention, storage services (SAN, NAS, Virtual), deployment of virtual services using automation (Aria Automation, Terraform, Ansible), management of Windows Server & RHEL operating systems, cyber vulnerability assessment and mitigation research, patch management in an enterprise environment, and related tasks.

Research, test and draft / document standardized technical procedures for the deployment of computer hardware and associated operating systems, including documentation of patch and vulnerability applicability assessments and recommendations for mitigation.

Implement, design, and maintain least‑privileged and role‑based access control models.

Respond to client support issues utilizing change management software to process and complete necessary tasks.

Maintain files / filing system(s) in compliance with requirements and provide recommendations for process or procedural changes due to system changes or upgrades.

Provide input to the BPA manager, technical lead, and staff regarding computer infrastructure decisions and create tasks to fulfill management‑directed goals.

Support and assist the team lead and NERC‑CIP subject matter experts with implementing, analyzing, and reporting on the operational compliance of all Control Center cyber assets, and develop improvements to the Control Center’s procedures and policies.

Assist management with the implementation and promotion of approved operational compliance process improvement efforts related to the above systems.

Requirements

U.S. Citizenship and a valid U.S. Driver’s License.

A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a directly related technical discipline is preferred.

With an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in applicable fields: 8 years of experience; without an applicable degree: 10 years of experience.

Direct work experience in IT performing System Administration, including a minimum combination of work‑related experience, on‑the‑job training, and/or vocational training.

2+ years’ experience with virtualized compute environments and enterprise Windows infrastructure using Active Directory, Group Policy, PowerShell, and other Windows utilities.
