Senior Systems Engineer

Job Responsibilities
Assist the engineering team leader in developing engineering procedures and controls, assisting in the management of project efforts, and recommending problem resolution for aircraft research, development, production, and lifecycle acquisition and sustainment activities; interface with weapons system contractors, vendors, and Government representatives regarding the technical aspects of engineering activities; independently apply engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, oversee, and evaluate weapons system development and sustainment activities; review and prepare engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation; and provide engineering expertise, oversight, and participation to activities involving weapons system and associated SE hardware/software development, integration and test, configuration management, QA testing, and acquisition and resource management.
Assist the Government by providing all required engineering support to accomplish FMS activities, investigation and rectification of issues affecting FMS, interfacing with both government and Contractor SMEs and other parties as required to address FMS inquiries, and in general to satisfy program needs.
Assist the Government in performing analysis required to integrate new subsystems and capabilities to MAUAS platforms.
Support the development and/or integration of EO/IR, signals intelligence, electronic warfare, or other payloads, to include either embedded or podded systems and associated processing and exploitation resources into the MQ‑9 weapons system.
Serve as a liaison with Air Force Tactical Exploitation of National Capabilities (AF TENCAP) and other DoD projects in support of current and future MQ‑9 mission requirements.
Assist the Government in performing analysis and developing documentation to support aircraft‑worthiness certification for flight test and fielding of special project subsystems and capabilities.
Draft documentation for the definition of requirements, analyses of alternatives, program technical and management reviews, test readiness reviews, test events and post‑test reviews.
Draft documentation for the development of technical/engineering input for efforts to include, and to be limited to, requirements definition, test documentation, SOW development, production specifications, interface documentation and Government furnished equipment.
Participate in design reviews, TIMs, and program management reviews.
Provide support of the management and execution of resolution of identified deficiencies with operational systems.
Provide advisory and draft documentation assistance for the development of briefings and reports required to update program leadership on progress.
Required Qualifications
Master of Sciences (MS) degree in an engineering field and 12 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline, OR Bachelors of Science (BS) degree and 15 years of experience in the same field.
At least 5 of the years of experience must be in the Department of Defense.
8‑year minimum in a senior systems engineering role.
Secret Security Clearance required.
Travel required.
